Dual Coding Theory has allowed me to understand that we take in sounds and images separately and can later connect them together. When creating PowerPoint presentations, I will definitely be providing both audio and images as my audience will be more likely to recollect it. If the text is the same as what is being said, the listeners brains will have an even harder time remembering it. This may change my presentations as instead of having all of the text I plan on delivering on the slides, I would instead have images on the slides and then just speak on the topic. Furthermore, dual coding has informed me that conversation speaking is much more effective than a formal style and people become more emotionally invested if they feel like they are involved and pay much more attention. This will affect future presentations as I will use a more informal delivery and use words such as I, you and we to further connect with my audience.
